Nowadays, more and more international people work in Chinese corporations. One of the most important working capacity is language ability, which means you may need prepare for your job interview in Chinese. The following guide will help you have a better performance in a Chinese job interview.

I. Self-introduction

This part is usually the first part of the job interview. Here are some information you should introduce to the interviewee.

wǒ de mínɡ zi shì 我的名字是 My name is
wǒ lái zì 我来自 I come from…
wǒ jīn nián…suì 我今年…岁 I am… years old
wǒ bì yè yú 我毕业于 I graduated from
wǒ de zhuān yè shì 我的专业是 My major is
wǒ shànɡ yí fèn ɡōnɡ zuò 我上一份工作 My last job

你好,我的英文名字是Jack,我的中文名字是杰克。我来自美国。我今年26岁了。我毕业于加州大学计算机专业。在校期间,我成绩优异,多次获得奖学金。我于2012年6月毕业,之后从2012年6月份到今年2月份,我在北京IBM 公司担任程序员一职。主要负责软件项目开发工作。 我熟悉C语言,Java等计算机语言。我现在想找一份软件程序员的工作,过去4年的工作经历说明了我非常喜爱并且胜任这份工作。谢谢
Hi, My English is Jack, and my Chinese name is jié kè. I come from America. I am 26 years old. I graduated from University of California, major in computer. During my university, I had good performance and got the scholarship many times. I graduated from UC in June, 2012. After that I worked in IBM as a programmer until February this year. My main responsibility is the research work for company's IT program. I am familiar with C, Java computer language. Now I am looking for a job for IT programmer. With my working experience and my passionate, I think I am capable of this job, thank you!

II. FAQ in Chinese Job Interview

After you finish the self-introduction, you will be asked some questions about yourself or your last job. Here are some common questions in Chinese job interview.

1. 你认为你自己的优/缺点是什么?(nǐ rèn wéi nǐ zì jǐ de yōu /quē diǎn shì shén me?) What is your strengths/weaknesses? 
我认为我的优点是学习能力很强,工作时能很快上手。我认为我的缺点是有时候有点急躁,缺乏耐心。
wǒ rèn wéi wǒ de yōu diǎn shì xué xí nénɡ lì hěn qiánɡ , ɡōnɡ zuò shí nénɡ hěn kuài shànɡ shǒu 。 wǒ rèn wéi wǒ de quē diǎn shì yǒu shí hou yóu diǎn jí zào , quē fá nài xīn 。
I think my strengths is I am a fast learner, I can adapt to my new job soon. My weakness is sometimes I am a little impatient.

2. 你的爱好是什么?(nǐ de ài hào shì shén me?)What is your hobby?
我的爱好是运动。每天晚上我都会出去跑步。每个周末我都会和朋友们去爬山。我很享受运动给我带来的快乐。
wǒ de ài hào shì yùn dònɡ 。 měi tiān wǎn shɑnɡ wǒ dū huì chū qu pǎo bù 。 měi ɡè zhōu mò wǒ dū huì hé pénɡ you men qù pá shān 。 wǒ hěn xiǎnɡ shòu yùn dònɡ ɡěi wǒ dài lái de kuài lè.
I like do some sports. Every night, I will go out for running. Every weekend, I climb mountains with my friends. I enjoy the sports very much.

3. 你为什么离开上一家公司?(nǐ wèi shén me lí kāi shànɡ yì jiā ɡōnɡ sī ?
Why you leave your last company?
我离开是因为我想寻找更多的挑战和机会。我认为我能胜任难度更大的工作。
wǒ lí kāi shì yīn wèi wǒ xiǎnɡ xún zhǎo ɡènɡ duō de tiǎo zhàn hé jī huì. wǒ rèn wéi wǒ nénɡ shènɡ rèn nán dù ɡènɡ dà de ɡōnɡ zuò.
I leave because I am looking for the job which is more challengeable. I think I am capable of doing some job which is harder.

4. 你为什么想在本公司工作?(nǐ wèi shén me xiǎnɡ zài běn ɡōnɡ sī ɡōnɡ zuò?)
Why do you want to work here?
因为我认为本公司需要的职位正好和我的能力还有工作经验想匹配。而且贵公司是一家跨国公司,是计算机行业的龙头企业。我能够在贵公司找到自我价值,并且为贵公司的发展贡献一份力量。
yīn wèi wǒ rèn wéi běn ɡōnɡ sī xū yào de zhí wèi zhènɡ hǎo hé wǒ de nénɡ lì hái yǒu ɡōnɡ zuò jīnɡ yàn xiǎnɡ pǐ pèi. ér qiě ɡuì ɡōnɡ sī shì yì jiā kuà ɡuó ɡōnɡ sī , shì jì suàn jī hánɡ yè de lónɡ tou qǐ yè. wǒ nénɡ ɡòu zài ɡuì ɡōnɡ sī zhǎo dào zì wǒ jià zhí, bìnɡ qiě wéi ɡuì ɡōnɡ sī de fā zhǎn ɡònɡ xiàn yí fèn lì liànɡ.
I think I have the ability and working experience which is match to the position requirement. Since your company is a  large multinational company and the leading company in computer industry. I think I will find my self-worth in your company, and I believe that I will contribute my effort to your company.

5. 你对薪水的要求是什么?(nǐ duì xīn shuǐ de yāo qiú shì shén me?)
What is your salary expectation?
我的期望薪资是每月10K. (wǒ de qī wànɡ xīn zī shì měi yuè 10 K)
My expectation is 10,000 RMB every month.

III. End of the Interview

At the end of the interview, the interviewer usually will ask you if you have any question to ask.
你有什么问题吗?(nǐ yǒu shén me wèn tí mɑ?)
Do you have any other questions?
没有了。谢谢!(méi yǒu le 。 xiè xiè!)
No, thanks!
